Materials

We carry a large selection of materials, allowing us to provide a rapid repair service for plant and machinery, and can order most other materials on next day delivery from our suppliers.

We can work with and supply a range of materials, including:

  • Stainless steel - Stainless steel’s resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance, and familiar lustre make it an ideal material for many applications where both the strength of steel and corrosion resistance are required. For example chemical plants, food processing plants, storage tanks, construction.

  • Aluminium - Aluminium is remarkable for its low density and its ability to resist corrosion through the phenomenon of passivation. Aluminium and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry and important in transportation, packaging and building industries, such as building facades and window frames.

  • Cast iron - With its relatively low melting point, good fluidity, castability, excellent machinability, resistance to deformation and wear resistance, cast irons have become an engineering material with a wide range of applications and are used in pipes, machines and automotive industry parts.

  • Carbon steel -  This can be used for various purposes. Low carbon steel is suitable for fencing, medium for construction and high carbon for wires. The higher the carbon content the harder the steel but it does become more fragile.

  • Engineering plastics - Engineering plastics have gradually replaced traditional engineering materials such as wood or metal in many applications. Besides equalling or surpassing them in weight/strength and other properties, engineering plastics are much easier to manufacture, especially in complicated shapes.

  • Casters

  • Belts

  • Bearings

  • Tooling

  • Fixings

We also provide a range of finishes, including polished, powder coated, plated and painted in a wide range of colours.
